This project is designed for high school and college students and invites domestic and foreign experts to spread mental health knowledge in forms of campus lectures and the series course Life Education---the Fundamentals of a Successful Life.

　　The main purpose of Sunshine in Your Heart Project is to provide the youth with healthy thinking mode, help them cultivate healthy self-image, develop positive interpersonal skills, solve conflicts, cultivate the character of establishing long-term friendship and have correct idea on post-marriage sexuality; help the youth to be mature at grow-up, become healthy, optimistic and responsible young adults; prevent the youth from suicide, depression, anxiety and drugs; reduce sexual babelism and thus reduce sexual diseases, teenage pregnancy and AIDS.

　　The Sunshine in Your Heart Project will use Beijing as its base, and make joint efforts with other provinces to spread the mental health education.

　　Various lectures, courses and trainings will be held in the first school semester (March, April, May and June) and the second school semester (September, October, November, and December).

　　We'll use the series book YTL Contemporary Youth Education (student's version) as our teaching materials. The main subjects are listed below:
　　1. How to establish a positive self-image
　　2. How to maintain a long-term friendship with others?
　　3. Interpersonal and communication skills---How to handle the conflicts?
　　4. natural disposition health education in adolescence
　　5. Preparation for marriage---is it love, or something else?
　　6. Professional ethics----preparation for entering society

　　Brief on project's achievements from 2004 to 2006

　　The Youth Life Education Project's 100 Campus Lectures program was initiated in 2004, which has held more than 150 sessions of campus lectures with an audience of 60,000. The program covered 60 colleges and schools in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Sichuan Province, Shandong Province, Yunnan Province, Hebei Province and Tianjin etc. and had donated more than 50,000 volumes of books. We received more than 10,000 pieces of questions in the lectures and more than 400 pieces of reflection essays from the students. In two years, there have been more 100 colleges and schools called us to make a lecture reservation, the project proved to be a big success and has been welcomed warmly by society and academic institutions.

　　In 2006 alone, we've held 93 sessions of courses and lectures in 41 colleges and schools, the audience amounted to more 29,000. From March, 2006, Beijing University adapted the teaching materials from the Sunshine in Your Heart Project to open a life education course for their students. The lecture time was set to every Monday of March to June and September to October. The 120-seats lecture hall, No.114 Classroom in Beijing University's Electronic Classroom Building was always fully occupied. The lectures delivered by foreign experts from Sunshine in Your Heart Project and the teachers from the Education College appealed to everyone present. Even those without a seat stood to the last minute of the lectures. Students said:"every Monday evening's lecture is our prime time." from which we could see how much needed and welcomed is the life education course among students.

　　Following the Beijing University's practice, Capital Normal University also integrated the Life Education---the Fundamentals of a Successful Life in their General Elective Courses. According to Mr. Zhao Kai from the psychology department, the registered number of students who has selected this course is 108; however, the number of the students actually attending this course amounted to more than 140.

　　A student from Beijing University wrote a reflection essay named My Transformation through the Life Education, in which she said:" I'm lucky to have selected this course, it has changed my views of me and others, and it also has given me a new view on human relationships in the society, and changed my attitude towards life. I really appreciate it. Maybe my heart is still sleeping, but I know it's waking; Maybe I'm still too impatient with my parents, but I know I'm learning to love them; Maybe I'm still afraid of dealing with strangers, but I know I'm beginning to have senses of securities; Maybe I'm still obsessed with tons of problems, but it matters little, because I know, I'm growing up, these problems will season my character and make me a better person. Now, I know it's unnecessary to fear or worry, all I have to do, is to develop and mature."

　　"I have to say that Life Education enables me to come into contact with another type of education, which makes me understand the ultimate purpose of education, especially the education in college," says a student surnamed Lu from Beijing University, "It also helps me realize some of my misunderstandings on life issues, and equip me with a comprehensive thinking habit to explore every confusion in life. Impressive and touching as it is, this course gives me several crucial advices right on time and has become a life-time guideline to me. "
